# A more flexible Pro plan for modern teams **Published:** September 9, 2025 | **Authors:** Tom Occhino | **Category:** Company News --- We’re updating Vercel’s Pro plan to better align with how modern teams collaborate, how applications consume infrastructure, and how workloads are evolving with AI. Concretely, we’re making the following changes: - **A flexible spending model:** Instead of discrete included allotments across 20+ infra products, we’re transitioning to a flexible usage balance. - **Free Viewer seats:** Teammates can access previews, analytics, and more without needing to pay for a seat. - **Self-serve Enterprise features:** SAML SSO, HIPAA BAAs, and more are now available to everyone on the Pro plan. No need to contact sales. - **Better Spend Management:** Spend Management is now enabled by default, to provide peace of mind against rare runaway usage. We’ve been iterating on this new Pro plan for a while now, based on feedback from thousands of customers, to better support the way modern teams build. With this transition, around 7% of teams with diverse usage across Vercel products will likely see their bills go up, the majority of which will see only a modest increase. The remainder of paying teams, over 100,000, will see either a decrease or no change in their bill. Either way, [we’re here to help](https://community.vercel.com/t/updated-pro-plan/18608) with recommendations and optimizations to ensure you’re happy with **the value you get from Vercel for the price you pay**. ### A flexible spending model You shouldn’t have to worry about keeping track of allocations and on-demand rates for 20+ different usage metrics while you’re building. Pro now uses a simpler credit-based usage model. Each month starts with $20 in flexible credit that can be used across your team’s projects in any configuration. Additionally, the new Pro plan includes $150+ dedicated to Fast Data Transfer, and $20+ for Edge Requests. ### Free Viewer seats Teams on Vercel come in all shapes and sizes and are made up of both developers and non-developers. One piece of recurring feedback we’ve heard is that you want to be able to collaborate with teammates, friends, and clients who do not deploy code, and that it feels unfair to have to pay for seats for them. Pro now offers free Viewer seats for those who need access to your team’s projects, previews, and dashboards, but who do not need to build, deploy, or update settings. ### Self-serve Enterprise features We've also heard overwhelming feedback that teams don’t want to have to contact sales or sign a contract in order to access the features they need. Pro now offers the ability to purchase features that have historically only been available on our Enterprise plan including SAML SSO and access to HIPAA BAAs. In the coming months, we’ll be making additional features available including PrivateLink, Static IPs, and more. ### Better Spend Management, enabled by default You shouldn’t have to monitor your costs every day to avoid surprises, or worry about runaway bills on Vercel, ever. Pro now includes improved Spend Management that’s enabled by default for all projects. Two sets of alerts will be configured automatically for all teams: - Alerts will trigger before you incur on-demand usage if you had no on-demand usage during the previous billing cycle. - Additional alerts will trigger when you’re approaching a default on-demand spend limit, initially set to $200 for new teams. You can customize your spend limits and optionally configure Spend Management to pause deployments automatically when the limit you set is reached. ### And more, available now for all teams We’ve also enabled our latest improvements to the platform, like [on-demand concurrent builds](https://vercel.com/changelog/no-build-queues-on-demand-concurrent-builds-now-on-by-default) and our new [transform-based Image Optimization pricing](https://vercel.com/changelog/faster-transformations-and-reduced-pricing-for-image-optimization) by default on the Pro plan. Whether you’re scaling production apps or getting started with your first AI app, these updates are designed to support the way modern teams build. We’ll be rolling them out to all users in the coming months, but you can also opt into them starting today. These changes lay the foundation for a platform that grows with your team, whether you’re just starting out or operating at a global scale. ### Frequently asked questions: **What’s the benefit of the credit-based model?** Flexible credit-based usage allows teams to allocate resources according to their actual workload rather than being locked into rigid usage buckets they may not fully use. This is intended to allow more usage of the platform before incurring on-demand charges **How will this affect my bill?** Most customers will see either a decrease or no change to their bill. Some high-usage teams or those using many Vercel services will incur on demand charges sooner. **What can the Viewer seat do?** Viewer seats can: - View and comment on deployments - Access analytics and project insights - Collaborate without driving up cost **Are there any changes to the free Hobby plan?** No. The Hobby plan remains unchanged. **Can I opt into the new pricing now?** Yes. The new pricing plan will start rolling out automatically in October, but you can opt in at any time starting today. **What add-on features are now available in Pro without Enterprise?** You can now self-serve purchase SAML SSO and HIPAA BAA, with Private Link, static IPs, and more coming soon. These are in addition to existing add-ons like Web Analytics Plus and Observability Plus. **How can I manage my spend on Vercel?** - Spend Management is now enabled by default - Soft alerts and overage notifications help prevent surprises - You can monitor usage and adjust as needed - Ensure you're taking advantage of any pricing changes, including Fluid compute with Active CPU pricing and new Image Optimization pricing **What if my usage goes over the included amount?** You'll begin to incur on-demand charges. Alerts will notify you before this happens.
