About the Role:

As the Engineering Manager for our Marketplaces team, you will lead the engineering function responsible for building and maintaining where users can find and integrate third-party tools, apps, or templates. This will include integrations with analytics, CMSs, databases, monitoring tools, or design systems that developers can add to their projects.

What You Will Do:

  • Manage & Grow the Engineering Team – Recruit, mentor, and support engineers building marketplace capabilities, fostering a culture of high performance and collaboration.

  • Drive Partner Integrations – Collaborate with product managers and partner engineering teams (e.g., CMS, e-commerce, analytics, and monitoring providers) to design scalable APIs and developer-friendly integration patterns.

  • Ensure Technical Quality & Reliability – Oversee system design, performance, and scalability for marketplace components, ensuring integrations meet Vercel’s standards for speed, security, and reliability.

  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally – Partner closely with Product, DX (developer experience), Partnerships, and Go-to-Market teams to align the marketplace strategy with customer needs and company goals.

  • Measure Impact & Iterate – Define success metrics (integration adoption, usage, ecosystem engagement) and use data to guide improvements in both the platform and developer/partner experience.

About You:

  • You have experience leading engineering teams that build platforms, ecosystems, or integrations, with a focus on scalability and developer experience.

  • You thrive in cross-functional environments, partnering with product, design, and go-to-market teams to deliver customer and partner value.

  • You’re comfortable working at the intersection of technical depth and business impact, aligning engineering priorities with marketplace growth and partner success.

  • You have a track record of hiring, mentoring, and growing engineers, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture.

  • You bring strong system design and architecture skills, especially around APIs, integrations, and extensible platforms.

  • You’re motivated by developer experience and ecosystem expansion, and excited to help Vercel scale its marketplace into a key driver of adoption and innovation.

Benefits:

  • Work with a world-class team at the intersection of web performance, developer experience, and infrastructure.

  • Competitive compensation package, including equity.

  • Inclusive Healthcare Package.

  • Learn and Grow - we provide mentorship and send you to events that help you build your network and skills.

  • Flexible Time Off.

  • We will provide you the gear you need to do your role, and a WFH budget for you to outfit your space as needed.
