About Vercel:

Vercel gives developers the tools and cloud infrastructure to build, scale, and secure a faster, more personalized web. As the team behind v0, Next.js, and AI SDK, Vercel helps customers like Ramp, Supreme, PayPal, and Under Armour build for the AI-native web.

Our mission is to enable the world to ship the best products. That starts with creating a place where everyone can do their best work. Whether you're building on our platform, supporting our customers, or shaping our story: You can just ship things.

About the Role:

As a webhost, millions of project builds flow through Vercel each day, and the flip side of the coin of being the best at what we do is keeping up with Trust & Safety issues. Whether it’s building out detection systems to find bad actors, scaling out our abuse response, or working to keep Vercel’s new products and features safe and scalable—Trust & Safety is on the case. We are looking for a Trust & Safety Engineering Manager to grow the Trust & Safety Engineering team and to protect Vercel, our users, and society from harms, fraud, and other risks.

What You Will Do:

  • Hold a high bar for technical work and teamwork.

  • Build rapport with each member of the team and support them as they level up their skills.

  • Work closely with team leadership, our program manager, and trust & safety sub-teams to synthesize needs into engineering roadmaps.

  • Review and write code along with the team.

  • Participate in and manage the team's on-call rotation.

  • Reduce abuse, fraud, and other harms on Vercel.

About You:

  • You have at least 4+ years of experience managing technical teams, or 6+ as team technical lead—in rapidly growing companies.

  • You have applied experience building and maintaining scaled abuse detection and restriction/checkpoint systems in a professional setting.

  • People tell you that you communicate well and you are comfortable with uncertainty.

  • You are excited by nurturing engineers and building engineering teams.

  • You are located in the SF Bay Area.

Benefits:

  • Competitive compensation package, including equity.

  • Inclusive Healthcare Package.

  • Learn and Grow - we provide mentorship and send you to events that help you build your network and skills.

  • Flexible Time Off.

  • We will provide you the gear you need to do your role, and a WFH budget for you to outfit your space as needed.

The San Francisco, CA base pay range for this role is $194,000 - $294,000. Actual salary will be based on job-related skills, experience, and location. Compensation outside of San Francisco may be adjusted based on employee location, and the total package includes benefits and equity-based compensation. Your recruiter can share more details during the hiring process.
